Having spent the first 20 years of his life in Wiltshire staring at sheep in the field behind his childhood home Jonnie decamped to London to train at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where he developed his penchant for creating challenging characters both as an actor and a screenwriter.
Recent film and TV work includes leading / major roles in numerous independent features including the lead role in "Do Elephants Pray?" opposite Marc Warren, "Umbrage" with horror icon Doug Badley, and the hugely successful UK film "The Zombie Diaries". He has also had leading roles in several high profile award-winning short films and a role in ITV's hugely popular prison drama 'Bad Girls'. His performances have been seen at film festivals in Canada, USA, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Korea, Japan as well as the UK.
Jonnie wrote, produced and starred in Elephant Features' first film "Do Elephant Pray?" and "Animals" for Jaffa Films and has recently completed development on the feature screenplay 'Take Down The Union Jack', a political thriller to be directed by Paul Hills for Dimarco Films. He is currently developing the comedy 'Another Man's Rhubarb' for Wesley Road Films and the military thriller 'The Beyond' with director Matti Beramsingh for Angelic Films.
A keen photographer, poker player and independent traveller Jonnie's other interests include Tai Chi, the history of art, French cinema, a thousand different bands and answering rhetorical questions. He currently lives in the south of France with his partner Stéphanie and their daughter Rosalie Triskelle who was born during the making of Do Elephants Pray?
Jonnie has a Kevin Bacon number of 3.
